Shooting During Break-in at Delhi Township Smoke Shop

DELHI TOWNSHIP, OH – A male intruder was shot dead during an attempted break-in at VIP Smoke Shop in Delhi Plaza off Delhi Road early Friday. The incident was confirmed by Police Chief Jeff Braun of Delhi Township.

At around 1:40 a.m., Delhi Township police were alerted to a shooting at the smoke shop. Chief Braun indicated that the intruder was shot by an employee of the business. The identity of the deceased intruder remains undisclosed until his family is informed.

Police are in pursuit of individuals who were with the intruder during the break-in. A stolen Kia Rio, previously sought by the police and believed to be connected to the crime, has been located.

However, its connection to the break-in remains uncertain. Chief Braun mentioned the vehicle’s recovery in District 3 but its involvement in the crime is yet to be determined.

Another 19-year-old man was found shot on Glenway Avenue, a short time after the incident at the smoke shop. He was discovered at the BP gas station with gunshot wounds.
