NEW BRUNSWICK, NJ — A Saturday night double homicide in New Brunswick ended with the suspect dead early Sunday, according to law enforcement.
The victims, Gabriela De La Cruz Camero, 22, and Jesus Antonio-Salazar, 25, both New Brunswick residents, were discovered in separate locations near Feaster Park. Camero was found inside the park just after 11 p.m. with multiple stab wounds, as reported by the Middlesex County Prosecutor’s Office. Antonio-Salazar was located shortly after near the intersection of Throop Avenue and Handy Street, adjacent to Feaster Park, also with stab wounds.
Antonio-Salazar was declared dead at the scene, while Camero died later at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital, the Prosecutor’s Office reported.
A 911 call at 2:13 a.m. on Sunday led police to Pine Street, approximately a half-mile from Feaster Park, where they discovered Eduardo Mateo Lorenzo, 26, also of New Brunswick, dead.
Detectives assert that Lorenzo knew both victims and is the alleged perpetrator of the stabbings before taking his own life. Authorities confirmed that there is no ongoing threat to the public.
