LANCASTER, PA – Miguel Morciglio-Figueroa, a 41-year-old resident of the 300 block of N. Franklin St., Lancaster City, was convicted on all charges concerning multiple assaults of a child.
These incidents spanned almost nine years, starting in 2009 and continuing until 2018. After a two-day trial overseen by Lancaster County President Judge David Ashworth, a jury delivered the guilty verdict.
Assistant District Attorney Benjamin Baker highlighted statements from the victim detailing the assaults during his closing argument. Addressing the jury, Baker emphasized the victim’s credibility, noting that she had no reason to lie.
The now 19-year-old victim testified, detailing incidents when she was around 6, 10, 13, and 15 years old. Baker concluded by urging the jury to restore the victim’s dignity through their decision.
Following about two hours of deliberation, the jury found Morciglio-Figueroa guilty on various charges, including rape of a child, aggravated indecent assault, and indecent assault of a person less than 13.
