In a joint operation involving multiple law enforcement agencies, a 40-year-old Lynchburg man was arrested while allegedly transporting a significant amount of narcotics across state lines.
The Lynchburg Police Department’s Special Investigations Division spearheaded the operation with assistance from Virginia State Police, Nelson County Sheriff’s Office, and other agencies.
According to a press release, “On October 11, 2023, at approximately 10:30 p.m., the Nelson County Sheriff’s Office initiated a traffic stop after the vehicle had been located by Narcotic Investigators on Route 151 South in the Afton area of Nelson County.” A K9 search led to a positive indication for narcotics, prompting a vehicle search. The seizure yielded approximately 1.2 pounds of methamphetamine, 4,800 pressed fentanyl pills, 100 grams of fentanyl powder, 100 grams of heroin, and 4.5 ounces of cocaine.
The suspect, identified as Oshea Jackson, faces multiple charges including possession with the intent to distribute various narcotics and “Possession, Manufacture, Distribution, etc. of Weapon of Terrorism.”
The police stated that “additional charges are pending and the case remains under investigation.”
