Toms River Announces Leaf Collection Schedule for Fall

TOMS RIVER, NJ – Toms River has officially rolled out its leaf collection schedule for this fall, providing specific details for residents based on their recycling pickup days. The timing of the collection varies according to when residents typically have their recycling collected.

For those with a Monday recycling schedule, leaf collection will occur during the weeks of October 30th and November 27th. If your recycling day falls on a Tuesday, leaf collection is slated for the weeks of October 30th and December 4th.

Wednesday recyclers can expect their leaves to be picked up during the week of November 6th and December 11th. Lastly, for Thursday recycling households, the leaf collection will be conducted during the weeks of November 13th and December 18th.

Residents are advised to have their leaf bags at the curbside by 6:30 a.m. on the Monday of their scheduled collection week.

“Only leaves in bags will be collected. Sometimes we are ahead of schedule. You should put your bagged leaves to the curb before your scheduled week begins. We may come early. However, we will still come through your area once again during your scheduled collection week,” said a public press release.

Importantly, leaves are not allowed in landfills. Residents who miss the scheduled curbside collection must bring either bagged or loose leaves to the Recycling Convenience Center. The facility is open from Monday through Saturday, 7:30 a.m. to 3 p.m.

As an additional benefit, wood chips and leaf mulch are available for residents at the Recycling Convenience Center. This service offers a sustainable solution for those looking to repurpose their yard waste while contributing to the community’s overall green efforts.
