Two Sentenced for 2021 Armed Robbery Spree in Hampton Roads

VIRGINIA BEACH, VA – Brandon Chavis, 36, and Melissa Beasley, 43, both from Norfolk, were sentenced on September 27, for their involvement in a series of armed robberies in 2021.

The spree lasted six weeks, from October 1 to November 15, 2021, targeting multiple establishments across Hampton Roads.

Two of the robberies occurred in Virginia Beach: one at a Subway on October 25, 2021, and another at a 7-Eleven on October 27, 2021. Chavis and Beasley were apprehended in Norfolk on November 15, 2021.

Detective K. Flanagan of the Virginia Beach Police Department presented the cases, leading to the federal indictment of the duo. Chavis received a sentence of 35 years and one day, while Beasley was sentenced to 28 years and one day.

The collaborative efforts of local and federal agencies in Hampton Roads were instrumental in securing the convictions.
