Man Beaten During Argument Over Parking Spot in Jackson Heights

New York City—The New York City Police Department is requesting the public’s help to identify a suspect connected to a robbery and assault that occurred in Jackson Heights.

The incident took place on Thursday, October 5, 2023, around 9:45 a.m. in front of 81-25 37th Avenue.

According to the NYPD, the victim, a 49-year-old male, was involved in a verbal altercation with the unidentified suspect over a parking spot. The dispute escalated, leading the suspect to physically assault the victim.

“The male individual then punched the victim multiple times about the head with a closed fist causing the victim to fall to the ground and lose consciousness,” the NYPD stated.

The assailant proceeded to steal the victim’s cellphone and fled the scene in a 2016 Gray Hyundai Elantra GT, bearing a Connecticut license plate with the number BF70144.

The victim was transported to NYC Health & Hospitals/Elmhurst, where he is reportedly in stable condition.

The suspect is described as a male in his 40s with a medium complexion and build. He was last seen wearing a dark blue t-shirt, black shorts, and white sneakers.

Authorities are urging anyone with information regarding this incident to come forward. The NYPD has released media depicting the individual wanted for this crime. Members of the public are advised to be cautious and report any relevant information to the police.
