Depew Man Arraigned on Multiple Charges Following Fatal Crash

ERIE COUNTY, NY – Erie County District Attorney John J. Flynn announced that Zachary P. Poisson, 32, of Depew, was arraigned before West Seneca Town Court Justice Jeffrey M. Harrington on Tuesday.

Poisson faces charges including Manslaughter in the Second Degree, Vehicular Manslaughter in the Second Degree, and Unauthorized Use of a Motor Vehicle, among others.

The charges stem from an incident on Monday, July 24, around 5:30 a.m. Poisson, allegedly under the influence of cocaine, was driving on Clinton Street in West Seneca when he crossed the center line, resulting in a head-on collision.

David Sion, 49, of Elma, the driver of the other vehicle, was declared dead at the scene.

Poisson is expected to return to court on Friday, at 9:30 a.m. Bail has been set at $15,000.
