MIDDLETOWN, NY – Brive Crosske, 50, of Middletown, was sentenced to an aggregate of fifteen years in state prison, followed by five years of post-release supervision, on Tuesday. The sentencing comes in connection with his guilty pleas to Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the Second and Third Degrees.
On June 17, 2022, officers from the City of Middletown Police Department attempted to stop Crosske’s vehicle for violations of the Vehicle and Traffic Law.
Crosske fled, discarding over an eighth of an ounce of cocaine before being apprehended. Despite facing charges, Crosske was released on his own recognizance due to the 2019 “bail reform” legislation.
While released, on February 17, police executed a search warrant at Crosske’s residence, uncovering 164 grams of cocaine, a scale, and cash. Crosske was indicted and pled guilty to both cases in May. He has five prior felony convictions and has been sentenced to prison on four occasions.
District Attorney Hoovler thanked the City of Middletown Police Department for their investigation and arrest of Crosske, emphasizing the continued commitment of law enforcement to pursue drug dealers despite legislative challenges posed by bail reform.
