WESTCHESTER, NY – Westchester County District Attorney Miriam E. Rocah issued a heartfelt statement condemning the recent terrorist attacks in Israel that resulted in the loss of innocent lives, including children and the elderly. The statement comes amid an increase in threats targeting the Jewish community and synagogues in Westchester, New York, and globally.

“My heavy heart is with the victims of the horrifically violent terrorist attacks in Israel this past weekend. I have and will continue to personally and unequivocally condemn the brutal and depraved violence,” Rocah said.

She emphasized that the feeling of a “tremendous loss of security, safety, and solidarity” is shared not just by her but by many others.

Rocah also detailed the steps being taken by her office in coordination with local, state, and federal law enforcement agencies to monitor and counteract threats to communities in Westchester. “The investigators and analysts in my Office and our law enforcement partners across Westchester are vigilantly working together…to monitor, communicate and coordinate regarding threats to any community at this time,” she assured.

The District Attorney reaffirmed her office’s unyielding commitment to fighting hate in all its forms.

“Every Westchester resident’s safety—and sense of safety—is paramount. My Office will continue to be proactive on prosecuting hate- and bias-motivated crimes and on our community outreach to combat hate,” Rocah stated. She highlighted the role of education and awareness in building trust within impacted communities.

Residents are urged to report threats and emergencies immediately to 911 or their local police departments. Non-urgent matters can be reported to the DA’s Office at 914-995-TIPS (8477) or online at westchesterda.net.
