LINDEN, NJ – In the wake of recent terrorist attacks and ongoing violence in Israel and the Gaza Strip, the Linden Police Department has issued a statement highlighting its collaboration with multiple law enforcement agencies to ensure community safety.

The department said it is “working closely with our law enforcement partners at the county, state, and federal levels, including the FBI, the Office of Homeland Security, the New Jersey State Police, the Union County Prosecutors Office, the Union County Sheriff’s Office, and other local law enforcement agencies” to maintain security.

While the international crisis evolves, local authorities are leaving no stone unturned in taking precautionary measures for the safety of the Linden community.

Though no credible threats have been identified locally, residents should expect to see an increased police presence, especially around sensitive areas. The department is taking these extra steps to allay concerns and deter any possible incidents. “Additional security measures have been put in place and residents can expect to see an increased police presence in the vicinity of these sensitive areas,” the Linden Police Department stated.

The department has also been engaging with religious leaders in the community to address any concerns within local faith circles.

According to the release, “We have been in contact with our local religious leaders to discuss the issues facing our local faith community, and we will continue to coordinate with our partners for the duration of this crisis.”

While the Linden Police Department and its partners are actively working to secure the community, they also emphasize the role of residents in maintaining safety. The department encourages all residents to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activities immediately.
