McDonald's Worker Shoots and Kills Woman During Dispute Inside Restaurant

HENDERSONVILLE, NC – Sam Antwan Ivey has been charged with second-degree murder by the Hendersonville Police Department following an incident at the McDonald’s on Four Seasons Blvd.

Earlier in the day, police responded to a report at the McDonald’s restaurant at 1909 Four Seasons Blvd. There, a 30-year-old woman had been fatally shot after an altercation.

The incident began with an argument between the victim and another woman at a nearby bus stop. The disagreement escalated and moved to the McDonald’s where the victim followed the other woman.

After a brief separation by the restaurant’s management, the victim came into contact with a male employee. In the ensuing disturbance, the male employee shot the victim and then fled.

Awareness of the situation reached an Edneyville Elementary School Resource Deputy, who noted that the shooter had a child attending the school.

Upon the suspect’s arrival at the school, he was promptly detained in the parking area.

Following standard protocol, the school was put on secure holding, but authorities believe there was no intent to harm at the educational institution. The Hendersonville Police are grateful for the Henderson County Sheriff’s Office’s aid in detaining the suspect efficiently.

Following his apprehension, the suspect was interviewed by the Hendersonville Police and will be booked for First Degree Murder at the Henderson County Detention Facility.

The public is asked to steer clear of the Four Seasons McDonald’s while the investigation proceeds. The victim, not believed to be local, had caused a disturbance at the restaurant, and efforts are underway to inform her next of kin.
