WASHINGTON, DC – Following the devastating Hamas attack on Israel, which resulted in the tragic death of hundreds of civilians and thousands more injured, Rep. Chris Smith (R-NJ), the Co-Chair of the Israel Allies Caucus, addressed the incident.

“I stand in absolute solidarity with Israel—with the family and friends of innocent people mercilessly slaughtered and with the entire nation under threat,” Smith began. He then urged President Biden to strongly condemn not only Hamas but also its main supporter, Iran.

Smith expressed concern over recent U.S. decisions concerning Iran. He highlighted the recent move by the Administration to unfreeze $6 billion in Iranian funds and shared unsettling information that agents within the Administration might be associated with an Iranian spy ring.

Finally, the Congressman touched upon his communication with the State Department, “Last week I asked Secretary Blinken to revoke State Department grants to an organization in Gaza that openly supports terror. To date, I have not received a response.”
