LUZERNE COUNTY, PA – Charles Zambri, 60, has been sentenced to a prison term of 16 to 32 years after being convicted of multiple felony counts, including involuntary deviate sexual intercourse and aggravated indecent assault.

The sentencing came on Tuesday, following Zambri’s conviction last year for repeatedly sexually assaulting an eight-year-old child between 2016 and 2018.

The assaults occurred while Zambri was tasked with babysitting the child at his residence in Wilkes-Barre. In addition to the prison sentence, the Luzerne County Judge designated Zambri as a sexually violent predator.

Consequently, Zambri will be required to register his whereabouts with the police for the remainder of his life after serving his prison term.

“The defendant subjected an innocent child to repeated, horrific abuse,” expressed Attorney General Michelle Henry. The Attorney General’s Office continues to emphasize the collective responsibility to protect children and encourages the public to report any known instances of abuse.
