NEWARK, NJ – Public Safety Director Fritz G. Fragé is requesting the public’s help in identifying a suspect involved in an aggravated assault that took place on South 6th Street.
On September 30, at approximately 7 p.m., a woman was assaulted while walking on the 300 block of South 6th Street after leaving a grocery store. The attack caused the victim to lose consciousness. When she regained awareness, she could not identify her assailant, and none of her belongings were taken.
Director Fragé encourages anyone with information regarding the suspect’s identity to contact the Police Division’s 24-hour Crime Stopper tip line at 1-877-NWK-TIPS (1-877-695-8477). All tips are confidential and may lead to a reward. The investigation is active and ongoing.
