WEST ORANGE, NJ – A 4-yard run by Frankie Williams in the final quarter propelled Red Bank Catholic to a 21-16 win over Seton Hall Prep.
The game began with Seton Hall Prep’s Jack Catchpole making a 30-yard field goal, putting the first points on the board. Red Bank Catholic responded when Jamie Gutridge ran for a 2-yard touchdown, kicked by Justin LaMorte, making the score 7-3.
The second quarter saw Seton Hall Prep retaking the lead. A 4-yard run by Michael Dunmore and another field goal by Catchpole put Seton Hall up 13-7 at halftime.
In the third quarter, Catchpole extended Seton Hall’s lead with a 36-yard field goal. However, Red Bank Catholic’s Emmanuel Ross electrified the crowd with a 96-yard kickoff return for a touchdown, also kicked by LaMorte, evening the score at 14-16.
The defining moment came in the fourth quarter when Frankie Williams ran for a 4-yard touchdown, again kicked by LaMorte, which sealed the win for Red Bank Catholic at 21-16.
Frankie Williams led Red Bank Catholic with 181 passing yards, while Matthew Lonczak added 41 rushing yards. Emmanuel Ross had an impressive 107 receiving yards. On defense, Jamie Gutridge contributed a sack, and Davin Brewton led with 14 tackles and an interception.
For Seton Hall Prep, Jack Gilmore passed for 101 yards and Michael Dunmore led in rushing with 108 yards. Danny Easter was the leading receiver with 86 yards, while Jaylen McClain led in tackles with 8.
With this win, Red Bank Catholic moves to a 4-1 record, while Seton Hall Prep falls to 1-4.
