TRENTON, NJ – New Jerseyeans who have the latest iPhone 15 might have noticed they’re running a bit warm. That;’s a problem with the iOS, the company said today.,
Apple has pinpointed several causes for its new iPhones running warmer than usual, including a software glitch that will be resolved in a future iOS 17 update.
Customers raised concerns about the new iPhones getting unusually warm. In response, Apple stated that the increased temperature is typical in the initial days due to background activities following setup or restoration.
The tech giant also mentioned that third-party app updates have been causing system overloads. Among the apps cited were Asphalt 9, Meta’s Instagram, and Uber. Instagram resolved the issue on September 27. Apple is working closely with other developers to roll out fixes.
The forthcoming update to iOS 17 will not compromise the device’s performance to regulate temperature, Apple assured.
The iPhone 15 Pro and Pro Max models are not prone to overheating, thanks to new titanium shells that offer better heat dissipation compared to older stainless steel versions.
Apple emphasized that the overheating is not a safety hazard and will not affect long-term device performance.
