Wilmington Man Arrested for Drug Possession and Assaulting Officers in Newark

NEWARK, DE — On September 26, Newark Police were dispatched to a restaurant in Newark Shopping Center at 230 East Main Street to check on a man who had locked himself in the bathroom. The situation escalated when Lee Warrington, 38, of Wilmington, attempted to force his way past officers and initiated a struggle, causing damage to restaurant property.

Although initial attempts to subdue Warrington with a Taser proved ineffective, officers eventually succeeded in taking him into custody. During the altercation, two officers suffered minor injuries that did not necessitate medical treatment.

Upon arrest, cocaine was discovered in Warrington’s possession. He now faces charges related to drug possession and assaulting officers.
