CORPUS CHRISTI, TX – Daniel Zintura Sr., 49, of Alamo, Texas, has been sentenced to 151 months in federal prison for selling eight kilograms of cocaine.
Zintura pleaded guilty on May 25 to possession with intent to distribute cocaine. U.S. District Judge Nelva Gonzales Ramos ordered the prison term to be followed by five years of supervised release. The court considered Zintura’s prior federal drug trafficking conviction and the fact that he was on supervised release at the time of this offense. Judge Ramos also highlighted Zintura’s history of repeated criminal conduct and the impact of drugs on communities.
In March 2022, Zintura orchestrated the transportation of eight kilograms of cocaine to Maryland. On March 17, law enforcement arrested Zintura as he handed off the cocaine to another individual at a local home improvement store.
Zintura remains in custody and will be transferred to a U.S. Bureau of Prisons facility at a later date.
The case was investigated by Homeland Security Investigations and prosecuted by Assistant U.S. Attorney Barbara J. De Peña.
