Fugitive Task Force Nabs 20-Year-Old on Homicide Charge

PITTSBURGH, PA – Trevon Taylor, 20, was taken into custody on September 26 by the Pittsburgh Police Fugitive Apprehension Unit and Violent Crime Unit detectives, assisted by the U.S. Marshals Western Pennsylvania Fugitive Task Force. Taylor was wanted for the September 23 homicide of Allen Jarrone Stevens on East Hills Drive.

The arrest was made without incident, and Taylor is now charged with Criminal Homicide and three counts of Recklessly Endangering Another Person.

The case originated on September 23, when Pittsburgh Police from Zone 5 received a 9-1-1 call around 11 a.m. reporting a shooting in the 2300 block of East Hills Drive. Detectives nearby located the victim, Stevens, who had been shot in the chest. First aid was rendered until medical personnel transported him to the hospital, where he was later pronounced dead.

During the initial investigation, a firearm was recovered at the scene and a female was questioned at police headquarters. The Violent Crime Unit continues to investigate the case.
