HARTLY, DE – Cindy Fisher, a 45-year-old woman from Sudlersville, Maryland, succumbed to her injuries following a car accident that took place late Friday night in Hartly.
The incident occurred on September 22 at approximately 11:38 p.m., when a silver 2018 Chevrolet Malibu was traveling eastbound on Arthursville Road, east of Gunter Road. The Malibu veered off the road, initially striking a sign. It then continued in the same direction, hitting an embankment and overturning.
The vehicle eventually came to a stop right side up, south of the roadway, and later became engulfed in flames. Both occupants had exited the vehicle before the fire started.
Fisher, the operator of the Malibu, was transported by ambulance to a nearby hospital with critical injuries. She passed away on September 23 due to the injuries sustained in the crash.
The passenger, a 33-year-old man from Hartly, Delaware, was also taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
