New Criminal Investigators Join Orange County District Attorney's Office

ORANGE COUNTY, NY – District Attorney David M. Hoovler announced the hiring of two new Criminal Investigators for the Orange County District Attorney’s Office.

Both Joseph Rutigliano and Michael Decker join the office following distinguished careers with local police departments.

Rutigliano recently retired from the City of Newburgh Police Department, where he served for 20 years, lastly as the Department’s Patrol Lieutenant. He was involved in the Group Violence Intervention program since its inception in 2014.

Decker, after 20 years with the City of Port Jervis Police Department, retired as the Department’s senior Detective. He specialized in narcotics investigations and major crimes. For two years, he also served as a special investigator with the Orange County Drug Task Force.

Criminal Investigators in the District Attorney’s Office collaborate with other police agencies, assist in homicide investigations, and support a wide range of criminal investigations.
