EGG HARBOR TOWNSHIP, NJ – The Egg Harbor Township Police Department (EHTPD) took part in ShopRite of English Creek’s annual “Help Bag Hunger Day” event on Friday, Sept. 22, contributing to the fight against hunger as part of National Hunger Action Month.
Members of the EHTPD acted as cashiers and bagged groceries, encouraging customer donations to benefit local food banks. The initiative raised $810 for ShopRite’s “Partners In Caring” program, a year-round community-based effort aimed at addressing hunger and raising awareness of the issue.
The annual event forms part of a larger, nationwide effort during September, recognized as National Hunger Action Month, during which various organizations and businesses engage in activities designed to combat hunger in their communities.
