NEWARK, NJ – Public Safety Director Fritz Fragé is asking for the public’s help in identifying three suspects involved in an armed robbery that occurred on September 19. The suspects approached a female victim around 10:35 p.m. in the 60 block of Monroe Street, robbing her at gunpoint.
The victim stated that three Black males approached her, demanding her belongings. Two suspects rifled through her pockets while the third brandished a firearm, pointing it at her face. They took her purse, which contained $40, credit cards, and her driver’s license, and fled northbound on Monroe Street.
The first suspect is described as having a dark complexion and a thin build, dressed in all black clothing, white sneakers, and a black face mask.
The second suspect, also with a dark complexion, has a heavy build and was seen wearing a white mask, grey sweatpants, a black hooded sweatshirt, and shoes.
The third suspect has a dark complexion and a thin build, and was wearing a white mask, sneakers, a tan hooded sweatshirt, and grey shorts.
