WILMINGTON, DE -The Delaware State Police arrested two 15-year-old males from Wilmington on charges of receiving stolen property and resisting arrest on Saturday morning.
The arrests followed an alert about an armed carjacking in Atlantic City, New Jersey, involving a white Porsche. The vehicle’s location was tracked to I-95 southbound near Route 202. The suspects were also linked to an earlier car crash and home invasion in Atlantic County, New Jersey, involving a car stolen from Smyrna, Delaware.
After locating the stolen Porsche in the 3000 block of Old Capital Trail, Wilmington, troopers set up a perimeter. As they approached on foot, the suspects fled the scene, ignoring verbal commands. They were apprehended after a brief foot chase.
Both teenagers were taken to Troop 2 and charged with receiving stolen property over $1500, a felony, and resisting arrest. They were arraigned by Justice of the Peace Court 11 and committed to the New Castle County Detention Center on a $21,000 cash bond.
