DURHAM, N.C. – A 30-year-old man, Aaron Parker of Durham, was fatally shot early Saturday morning on NC Highway 54.
The Durham Police Department reported that officers were dispatched to the 2200 block of NC Highway 54 around 1:38 a.m. Upon arrival, witnesses informed them that Parker had been taken from the scene in a car.
While officers were en route to the hospital, a 911 call was made from the vehicle carrying Parker. Officers met with the victim and other occupants of the car at the hospital, where Parker later succumbed to his injuries.
The Durham Police Department is actively investigating the case and currently has no suspects in custody. The incident is believed to be isolated.
