CENTREVILLE, VA – A spontaneous decision to buy a lottery ticket turned a 38-year-old Virginia man’s lunch break into a life-changing moment as he claimed the $50,000 top prize on a $50,000 Cash scratch-off game.
The auto detailer, who chose the name “Rush” to share his story, visited Royal Farms #148 in Anne Arundel County, Maryland. After scratching the ticket in front of the Lottery vending machine, he almost discarded what turned out to be a winning $20 scratch-off. A scan confirmed the big win, leaving him momentarily concerned for his heart health.
Rush plans to save his winnings and is considering learning about stock investments. “This is what I’ve been dreaming about for so long,” he said.
Royal Farms #148 will receive a $500 bonus for selling the top-prize ticket. With this win, 92 top prizes remain unclaimed in the $50,000 Cash game that debuted last December.
