Princeton Blanks Haddon Township 23-0

PRINCETON, NJ – Princeton High School rolled to a 23-0 win over Haddon Township on Monday, improving their record to 2-1 in the West Jersey Football League.

Princeton controlled the game from the start, with Tyler Goldberg rushing for 114 yards and a touchdown. Quarterback Travis Petrone also contributed with 65 passing yards and a rushing touchdown of his own.

The Princeton defense was just as impressive, keeping Haddon Township off the scoreboard entirely. Ellinton Hinds had an 83-yard interception return for a touchdown, adding to the misery of Haddon Township, which now falls to 0-2 in the league.

In the first quarter, Tyler Goldberg opened the scoring with an 8-yard run, followed by Carmine Carusone’s successful extra point kick. The second quarter saw Hinds take an interception 83 yards for another touchdown, further extending Princeton’s lead.

The third quarter was also in Princeton’s favor. Petrone dashed 21 yards for a score, though the following kick failed. Carusone later added a 29-yard field goal, rounding off Princeton’s 23-point performance.

Ben Walden led Princeton in receiving with 46 yards, while the defense continued to make key plays. Besides Hinds’ interception, the defense also recovered a fumble, ensuring Haddon Township’s inability to score or gain momentum.

Haddon Township failed to register any notable stats, emphasizing their struggle to get going on either side of the ball.

With this shutout win, Princeton looks poised for a strong season in the WJFL, while Haddon Township will aim to find answers in their upcoming games.
