BROOKLYN, NY – Allen Barrington, 38, has been sentenced to 10 years in prison for the sex trafficking of an 18-year-old girl.
The Brooklyn District Attorney announced the sentence on Wednesday, stating that Barrington had lured the victim from Ohio to New York with promises of a modeling career.
According to the investigation, Barrington responded to an online post by the victim on June 3, 2022. He paid for her bus ticket to New York and picked her up on June 5, 2022. Subsequently, he forced her into prostitution and was physically violent towards her.
Barrington was arrested in Ohio on July 6, 2022, and extradited to Brooklyn on July 26, 2022. He pleaded guilty to sex trafficking on March 29.
The case was investigated by the New York City Police Department’s Human Trafficking Squad.
