24-Year-Old Shot in Rochester

ROCHESTER, N.Y. – Police are investigating a shooting that occurred on Tuesday evening in the northwest side of the city.

Officers were dispatched to the area of Dewey Avenue and Alameda Street at around 6:45 p.m. after receiving reports of gunshots.

While en route, a single-car crash involving the 24-year-old male victim of the shooting was reported on State Route 104 eastbound at the North Clinton Avenue exit. The victim later arrived at Rochester General Hospital in a private vehicle and is being treated for non-life-threatening injuries.

Investigators have determined that the shooting took place near Eldorado Place and Pierpont Street. The investigation is ongoing, and no suspects have been identified at this time.
