WASHINGTON, DC – An arrest has been made in a double homicide that took place on July 22 in the 1400 block of Girard Street, Northwest, according to the Metropolitan Police Department’s Homicide Branch.
Third District officers responded to reports of a shooting at 9:53 pm. Upon arrival, they found an adult male victim at the scene. A second male victim was later located on the 1400 block of Fairmont Street, Northwest. DC Fire and Emergency Medical Services determined that both men showed no signs of life and remained on scene until transported to the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner.
The first victim was identified as 29-year-old Luke Whitaker of Northwest, DC. The second victim was 19-year-old Zion Hollingsworth-Hayes of Silver Spring, MD.
The police, acting on a DC Superior Court arrest warrant, arrested 33-year-old Jeremiah Jordan of Southeast, DC on September 8. Jordan was transported to the Homicide Branch and charged with First Degree Murder while Armed-Premeditated.
