NEWARK, DE – An unknown assailant attempted to carjack a 58-year-old woman at gunpoint early this morning in the parking lot of a Wawa located at 4651 Ogletown Stanton Road. The victim resisted, and the suspect fled in a waiting vehicle.
Troopers responded to the scene at approximately 2:34 a.m. after receiving reports of the incident. The suspect, described as a black male in dark clothing, brandished a handgun and tried to forcefully remove the victim from her car. The victim did not comply, leading the suspect to flee.No injuries have been reported. Surveillance footage is currently unavailable.The case is under investigation by the Delaware State Police Troop 2 Robbery Unit. Authorities are urging anyone with information to contact Detective B.
