UPPER MERION, PA – On Saturday, August 26, at about 5:19 PM, the Upper Merion Police Department located a stolen vehicle in the Green Parking Garage of the King of Prussia Mall.
The vehicle, a black Kia Sorento, had been reported stolen by the Philadelphia Police Department on June 19.
Detectives set up surveillance and later observed three males approaching the vehicle. A 17-year-old juvenile from Philadelphia was taken into custody and found to be in possession of the key fob for the stolen car.
Inside the juvenile’s Gucci bag, detectives found a black Glock handgun with a blue laser aiming device, loaded with 16 rounds of ammunition. The firearm was also reported as stolen by the Philadelphia Police. Drugs and drug paraphernalia were found inside the stolen vehicle.
The juvenile was charged with multiple counts of Theft, Receiving Stolen Property, Drug and Firearms violations, and was transported to the Montgomery County Juvenile Detention Center to await further court proceedings.
