Pemberton School Employee Charged for Posing as Teen to Lure Child Victim

MOUNT HOLLY, NJ – Christopher J. Perry, a 34-year-old Information Technology Coordinator employed by the Pemberton Township School District, was arrested today on multiple charges, including attempting to engage in a sexual encounter with a minor. Burlington County Prosecutor LaChia L. Bradshaw and Acting Pemberton Township Police Chief Jason Luis announced the arrest.

Perry, a resident of Piute Trail in Browns Mills, was charged with Attempted Sexual Assault (Second Degree), Enticing a Minor (Second Degree), Endangering the Welfare of a Child (Third Degree), and Attempted Criminal Sexual Contact (Fourth Degree). He is currently in custody at the Burlington County Jail in Mount Holly, awaiting a first appearance in Superior Court.

The investigation initiated last month when Perry contacted the underage female student via Snapchat. The student’s parents alerted school officials, who in turn informed law enforcement. A Burlington County Prosecutor’s Office (BCPO) investigator took over the text conversation, posing as the 15-year-old student.

Perry, believing he was still speaking with the minor, described explicit sexual acts he wanted to perform on her. He planned to pick her up at a park in Browns Mills today. Upon arrival, law enforcement arrested him. Moments earlier, Perry had been seen buying condoms at a drugstore en route to the park.

The investigation is ongoing and is led by the BCPO Special Victims Unit and the Pemberton Township Police Department. The lead investigators are BCPO Detective Arek Arargil and PTPD Detective Brenna Stone.

Authorities urge anyone with additional information to contact the Pemberton Township Police Department’s tip line at 609-894-3352.
