Dirt Bike Crash Leaves 22-Year-Old Greenbelt Man Dead

LANHAM, MD – The Prince George’s County Police Department’s Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Unit is investigating a fatal collision that took place last Monday at the intersection of Lanham Severn Road and Main Street.

The incident involved a dirt bike and a car and resulted in the death of 22-year-old George Jackson of Greenbelt.

At around 8:45 pm, officers responded to the area following reports of a collision. Preliminary findings suggest that a car heading eastbound on Lanham Severn Road collided with a dirt bike traveling in the opposite direction. The driver of the car was attempting to make a left turn onto Main Street when the collision occurred.

Both the rider and the passenger on the dirt bike were transported to a hospital. Jackson succumbed to his injuries a short time later, while the dirt bike rider sustained serious injuries. Neither the driver nor the passenger of the car involved in the collision were injured.
