Deer Park Woman Who Tried to Kill Ex-Boyfriend Pleads Guilty

SUFFOLK COUNTY, NY – Shaquela Titley, 31, of Deer Park, pleaded guilty to Manslaughter in the First Degree for fatally stabbing Marie Mille, 85, and Attempted Murder in the Second Degree for trying to kill her ex-boyfriend. The incident occurred on the morning of December 23, 2021.

Titley had been renting an apartment inside Mille’s home for approximately nine months before the stabbing.

She attacked Mille because her lease was not going to be renewed by Mille’s son, her ex-boyfriend. Titley’s ex-boyfriend discovered his mother dead and covered in blood upon his return home later that day.

After attacking his mother, Titley stabbed her ex-boyfriend multiple times. He managed to escape the house and took refuge in a neighbor’s home. Titley was arrested on the same day.

On Tuesday, Titley admitted her guilt before Supreme Court Justice Timothy P. Mazzei. She faces a sentencing of 30 years in prison followed by five years of post-release supervision and is expected to be back in court on October 5.
