BALTIMORE, MD – While the Powerball jackpot soars to $363 million, a Catonsville resident snagged a $50,000 third-tier prize, becoming one of Maryland’s significant winners in a week that saw more than $28.3 million awarded.
Since a $1.08 billion Powerball win in California on July 20, five Maryland players have won $50,000 each. Besides the Catonsville ticket, others were sold in Clinton, North East, Pasadena, and Severna Park. As of today, the tickets from Catonsville and Pasadena remain unclaimed.
Other notable wins include four $50,000 prizes across Accokeek, Oxon Hill, Pasadena, and White Marsh, and a $100,000 scratch-off win in Takoma Park. A total of 25 tickets worth $10,000 or more were sold or redeemed during the seven days ending on August 27.
Winners of prizes above $25,000 must claim their winnings at the Maryland Lottery Claims Center in Baltimore, which operates by appointment. Smaller prizes can be claimed at various authorized locations. Details are available on the How To Claim page of mdlottery.com.
