Lodi Man Charged in Hit-and-Run Incident

HACKENSACK, NJ – John Laiosa, a resident of Lodi, NJ, has been charged with knowingly leaving the scene of a motor vehicle accident that resulted in serious bodily injury.

The charge was announced by Bergen County Prosecutor Mark Musella and is the outcome of an investigation led by the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office and the Hackensack Police Department.

On Saturday, August 6, Hackensack Police received a 911 call at about 8:47 pm reporting a hit-and-run incident at the intersection of Essex Street and Lehigh Street.

The victim, a 65-year-old Hackensack resident, was taken to Hackensack University Medical Center for treatment.

Investigation revealed that a 2019 Ford Mustang operated by Laiosa struck the victim and fled the scene. Laiosa has been released on his own recognizance and awaits his first court appearance in Central Judicial Processing Court in Hackensack.
