Lawrence Marcellus Marshall IV, 20, of Montgomery Village, the suspect wanted for the July 5 homicide of 40-year-old Cedric Warner, turned himself in at the Montgomery County Department of Police 6th District Station in Gaithersburg on Thursday, August 24.
Marshall IV allegedly shot and killed Warner on Wednesday, July 5, in the 11500 block of Lockwood Drive in Silver Spring. Officers who arrived at the scene located Warner inside an apartment, suffering from apparent gunshot wounds. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
Through the course of the investigation, homicide detectives identified Marshall IV as the suspect, and a warrant was issued for his arrest on Thursday, July 21.
Marshall IV was subsequently transported to the Central Processing Unit, where he was served with a warrant charging him with first-degree murder and now awaits a bond hearing.
