TOMS RIVER, NJ – CVS, the popular pharmacy chain with many locations at the Jersey Shore is making some employee staff reductions this fall.

As part of a nationwide effort to reduce expenses, CVS Health will be laying off 207 workers at multiple locations throughout New Jersey. The company, along with the state Department of Labor, confirmed the news.

These job cuts come on the heels of CVS’s recent announcement that it intends to reduce its workforce by 5,000 across the United States. The focus of these layoffs will be primarily on “non-customer facing positions.”

According to the worker adjustment and retraining notification (WARN) filed with the New Jersey Department of Labor and Workforce Development, the New Jersey layoffs are scheduled to take place between November 15 and December 31. The specific locations impacted have not been disclosed.
