LONG ISLAND, NY – On Wednesday, the area will enjoy sunny conditions with a high near 80 degrees, accompanied by a gentle northeast wind around 7 mph. By Wednesday night, there’s a 20 percent chance of showers after 2am, and clouds will increase, with temperatures dropping to a low around 66 degrees. The south wind will blow at 5 to 8 mph.

Moving on to Thursday, Long Island residents can expect a chance of showers, with the possibility of thunderstorms after 2pm.

The sky will remain cloudy, and the temperature will reach a high near 75 degrees. The south wind will increase, blowing at 7 to 14 mph, and the chance of precipitation will be around 30%.

The weather will become more unsettled by Thursday night. A chance of showers and thunderstorms will develop, followed by likely showers and possibly a thunderstorm after 2am.

The temperature will hold steady around 73 degrees, and the south wind will continue at 11 to 13 mph. There’s a considerable chance of precipitation at 70%, and new rainfall amounts between a quarter and half of an inch are possible.
