WASHINGTON, D.C. – The Washington, D.C. Metro Police Department has made an arrest in a carjacking that took place Sunday afternoon in Southeast, D.C.
The suspect confronted the victim at the intersection of Martin Luther King Jr Avenue and U Street at about 1:06 pm, demanding keys and hinting at a concealed firearm in his waistband. The victim denied the request, causing the suspect to run away on foot.
A 12-year-old juvenile male from Southeast, D.C., was arrested on Sunday by responding officers who discovered a firearm in his possession. He was charged with Armed Carjacking and Carrying a Pistol Without a License.
