Daycare Worker Arrested for Child Abuse in Prince George’s County

DISTRICT HEIGHTS, MD – The Prince George’s County Police Child and Vulnerable Adult Abuse Unit have made an arrest in a disturbing incident at Morning Starr Childcare Center located at 6000 Marlboro Pike.

On August 17, patrol officers were summoned to the daycare facility, triggering an investigation that included interviews, video footage review, and consultation with the Office of the States Attorney’s Office.

The suspect, identified as 21-year-old Latayzia Forbes of Bowie, MD, was subsequently arrested and charged.

Forbes faces charges of 2nd Degree Child Abuse and 2nd Degree Assault. She was taken to the Prince George’s County Department of Corrections for further processing and is awaiting presentation before a District Court Commissioner.

Having been employed as a child care provider since 2021, Forbes’s arrest has sent ripples of concern through the community.

However, the Prince George’s County Police have stated that they are not aware of any other incidents involving the suspect, and the investigation continues.
