Florida Man Sentenced for 2021 Jersey City Murder

JERSEY CITY, NJ – Hudson County Prosecutor Esther Suarez informed the public on Monday, that Ariel Dumit, 38, of Florida, received a 30-year sentence for the 2021 murder of Christian Parra, 34, from Jersey City.

On Sunday, February 28, 2021, at 8:18 p.m., Jersey City Police Department officers rushed to the BJ’s Parking Lot at 396 Marin Boulevard after reports of a shooting incident.

They discovered Parra with a gunshot wound to his torso. He succumbed to his injuries at Jersey City Medical Center at 9 p.m.

Dumit was found guilty of murder, weapon possession for unlawful purposes, and unlawful weapon possession on Tuesday, April 18.

He will serve three decades in prison before parole consideration.
