QUEENS, NY – On Friday, District Attorney Melinda Katz revealed that Ashram Lochan was indicted and arraigned in relation to a 2021 shooting.
This incident, presumably stemming from an argument over a shared driveway, resulted in the death of 10-year-old Justin Wallace and severe injuries to his cousin, Kyle Forrester, 29.
Lochan, 29, from Beach 45th Street, Far Rockaway, faces charges including second-degree murder, attempted second-degree murder, first-degree assault, possession of a weapon, and tampering with evidence. His next court date is set for September 26. If convicted, Lochan could serve life imprisonment.
In connection to the same case, Jovan Young, 31, from Far Rockaway, was charged in 2021 with second-degree murder, attempted second-degree murder, first-degree assault, and weapon possession.
The charges detail that on June 5, 2021, after Lochan’s disagreement with Forrester over their shared driveway, Young, under Lochan’s instruction, fired several shots into Forrester’s home around 9:33 pm. Multiple children were inside, including Wallace.
Forrester was critically injured, while Wallace’s wounds proved fatal. He was set to turn 11 just three days later.
