DEAL, NJ – Another dead whale has been spotted off the coast of Deal. This comes after a high volume season of deceased and beached whales and dolphins at the Jersey Shore.

The sighting has not yet been officially confirmed by the Coast Guard, NJ State Police or the Marine Mammal Stranding Center. News 12 New Jersey first reported it.
According to reported Jim Murdoch, the whale was two miles off the coast. No further information has been made available.
According to a recent report in The New York Times, the East Coast of the United States has witnessed a concerning trend as 23 dead whales have been discovered washed ashore since early December. Out of these, 12 were found in New Jersey and New York alone.
The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) has indicated that the pace of these deaths is particularly alarming to federal scientists, even though the total numbers might be lower than some previous years.
