BALTIMORE, MD- A contractor from Baltimore experienced a stroke of luck while taking a work break and purchasing scratch-off tickets. The anonymous 43-year-old winner, who goes by the nickname “Big J,” just revealed the second $50,000 top prize in the newly launched Bonus Cash Doubler scratch-off game.
“Big J” is a regular player of Maryland Lottery games, frequently trying his luck with a variety of scratch-offs and Keno tickets. On a break from work, he sought refuge from the summer heat at US Fuel in Baltimore. Along with water and snacks, he bought a few scratch-offs, hoping one would yield a prize. Initially, none of them did. However, feeling fortunate, he decided to purchase the last two Bonus Cash Doubler scratch-offs available.
To his delight, the second instant ticket turned out to be a life-changing win, revealing a $50,000 top prize. He couldn’t believe his eyes and described the moment as a “state of shock and disbelief.” The overwhelming feeling even made him shake.
Speaking to Lottery officials when claiming his prize, “Big J” expressed his excitement and stated, “It’s not every day that you win big like this.” He plans to make the most of the prize money, starting with a weeklong beach vacation for his wife and family, ensuring they have a wonderful time. Additionally, he intends to invest in starting a plumbing business and secure the future by wisely investing some of the windfall.
“Big J” is not the only one celebrating this Lottery luck. US Fuel, located at 6100 Moravia Park Drive, where he purchased the winning scratch-off, will receive a $500 bonus from the Lottery for selling the top-prize winning ticket.
The Bonus Cash Doubler scratch-off hit the market on July 17, offering eight top prizes. Although “Big J” claimed the second top prize, there are still six more top prizes up for grabs. Moreover, the game features over 990,000 other prizes ranging from $5 to $5,000, giving players many chances to win big.
