TEMPLE HILLS, MD – A U.S. Army veteran in Temple Hills, Maryland, had an enjoyable outing with his Racetrax-playing friends at a local restaurant, Marlow Winghouse & Sports Grill. The man’s preferred bet was Superfecta, where he had to choose four horses to finish in the exact order. During one of the recent rounds of Racetrax, while engaged in conversation with his friends, he missed watching the race where the horses 9, 5, 7, and 6 finished in the order he had selected on his $20, 20-race ticket.
When he approached the counter to check if his ticket was a winner, the clerk surprised him by whispering the good news in his ear rather than announcing it loudly. The Prince George’s County resident was elated to find out that he had won a staggering $34,775. Excited about his victory, he immediately called his friend to share the news, and she jokingly asked if she had won the lottery, to which he replied, “No, but I did!”
While keeping the details of his big win private, the Racetrax enthusiast plans to use the prize money to pay off bills and enjoy something fun with the remaining amount.
Marlow Winghouse & Sports Grill, where the winning ticket was purchased, is also a winner in this story. The Prince George’s County retailer, located at 4147 Branch Avenue, will receive a bonus of $347.75 from the Lottery for selling a winning Racetrax ticket worth $10,000 or more.
The bonus amounts to 1% of the prize, providing the establishment with a well-deserved reward for being part of the fortunate player’s victory.
