WASHINGTON, D.C. – A homicide investigation is underway by the Homicide Branch of the Washington, D.C. Metro Police Department following a shooting that occurred on Sunday afternoon in Northeast D.C.’s 2300 block of 13th Place.
A shooting incident prompted the swift response of officers at around 4:48 pm, as they hurried to the reported location. Once on-site, they found an adult male who had sustained gunshot wounds. The victim was taken to an area hospital. Despite all lifesaving measures, the victim died at the hospital.
24-year-old Terence Akindo of Maryland was identified as the victim.
