BALTIMORE – Authorities are seeking the public’s assistance in identifying a young child or his parents or guardian after an incident of potential child neglect. On July 29, 2023, at around 11:35 p.m., officers responded to a call for service in the 4000 block of Fernhill Avenue.
Upon arriving at the location, officers were approached by a concerned citizen who had discovered a child wandering alone. The caller observed the child running from the area of Granada Avenue / Ridgewood Avenue, seemingly trying to catch up with an unidentified black vehicle displaying temporary tags.
The child, estimated to be around 3 to 4 years old, is nonverbal. As a precautionary measure, the child was taken to Johns Hopkins Pediatrics for a thorough examination by hospital staff.
In response to the situation, child protective services have been notified and are actively conducting an investigation to ensure the child’s safety and well-being.
